Kerry Broadband

permaNET has 3 base stations in Kerry providing excellent broadband coverage from Tarbert in the North to Glenbeigh in the South.

permaNET began offering broadband services in the Kerry area in 2005 with the help of the County and Group Broadband Scheme run by the Department of Communications. The North Kerry Together Group were instrumental in helping to bring the service to areas that otherwise would not have had access to a reliable broadband service.

Broadband in Cork

Update November 2009 – New base stations added In Cork.
permaNET now has 4 main broadband base stations in Co. Cork

In West Cork permaNET is based at Mt. Gabriel. If you can see the distinctive white domes at the top of Mt. Gabriel then you are likely to be able to subscribe to the permaNET service. West Cork Broadband Map.

Our service extends from Bantry in the West to Skibbereen in the East with, Schull, Goleen and Baltimore in between.

A group of local people worked hard to get broadband to this West Cork area, there is no formal organisation involved just a group of dedicated individuals who work hard for their community. We are happy to have had the opportunity to work with you all and hope your community appreciates all of the hard work you put in for them. This project was part funded with the help of the County and Group Broadband Scheme.

In North Cork permaNET is based on Mt. Clara just outside Millstreet. permaNET brought broadband to this area with the help of the County and Group Broadband Scheme and the great people in IRD Duhallow who do wonderful work.

In November 2009 permaNET were awarded 2 new 3.5GHZ FWALA licences for the Cork area resulting in far greater coverage of county Cork. Initially 2 new base stations have been added at Bweeng – extending services into the Mallow area and North of Cork City.

Broadband in Limerick

permaNET’s Broadband base station at Ballingarry provides excellent fixed wireless broadband coverage in the Limerick and North Cork area. Because of the elevated site and the surrounding topography coverage in the area is extensive.

Utilising licensed 3.5Ghz radio spectrum ensures subscribers get an interference free service unlike other operators offering service in the unlicensed 2.4 or 5 Ghz bands.

Because of the advanced Docsis technology used, subscribers can receive the same quality of service whether they are 2km or 20km from the base station.

North Wexford Broadband

With the help of a local community group in North Wexford and through the County and Group Broadband Scheme permaNET began offering broadband services in North Wexford in 2005. From a base station in Arklow and a second base station on a hillside near the village of Ballyfad our broadband service is available over a large area from Arklow in the North to Ferns in the South. The addition of a third base station at Sliabh Bui extended the service further and brought our quality licensed fixed wireless service to areas that previously had no access to reliable broadband services.Check out our coverage map to see the extensive range of our Broadband in Wexford North

South Wexford Broadband

The County and Group broadband scheme and a very hard working local group of individuals brought permaNET to the South East. From a very imposing broadcast location at the top of Forth Mountain, permaNET’s service extends to Blackwater in the North, Rosslare and Kilmore in the South and to Fethard in the West. Coverage to the South and West of Wexford county and parts of Carlow is extended through 2 further broadcast sites at Sliabh Bui (North of Enniscorthy) and White Mtn (South and West of Mt. Leinster)

South West Wexford Broadband

From a base station on the coastline of county Waterford permaNET provides broadband services to West wexford. Customers in Duncannon, Ramsgrange Ballyhack and as far North as New Ross are served from this base station.
