Update November 2009 - New base stations added In Cork.
permaNET now has 4 main broadband base stations in Co. Cork
In West Cork permaNET is based at Mt. Gabriel. If you can see the distinctive white domes at the top of Mt. Gabriel then you are likely to be able to subscribe to the permaNET service. West Cork Broadband Map.
Our service extends from Bantry in the West to Skibbereen in the East with, Schull, Goleen and Baltimore in between.
A group of local people worked hard to get broadband to this West Cork area, there is no formal organisation involved just a group of dedicated individuals who work hard for their community. We are happy to have had the opportunity to work with you all and hope your community appreciates all of the hard work you put in for them. This project was part funded with the help of the County and Group Broadband Scheme. |
In North Cork permaNET is based on Mt. Clara just outside Millstreet. permaNET brought broadband to this area with the help of the County and Group Broadband Scheme and the great people in IRD Duhallow who do wonderful work.

In November 2009 permaNET were awarded 2 new 3.5GHZ FWALA licences for the Cork area resulting in far greater coverage of county Cork. Initially 2 new base stations have been added at Bweeng - extending services into the Mallow area and North of Cork City.
Further services wille be added in Cork throughout 2010.
